Priorities

We've been talking about it for a long time...

One of the most important things a boy can have...before he gets too old...

So, all Labor Day weekend, even though the living room needs to get finished, the lighting in the kitchen needs to be fixed, the entry way needs to be tiled and the stairs need to be repaired,
We finally built the Tree house.
In the Hackberry Tree in the backyard.
It really is a perfect tree...The branches and leaves make the roof.
Matthew and Clint slept in it last Friday.
< They let Derek visit.
The most important aspect of the Tree house is the pulley and bucket, so they can get all of their important stuff up there. And the trap door, of course.
The name of the Tree house is "Hydration Mountain". Derek named it. We don't know where the name came from, but until Clint thinks of a new one, That is the one we are sticking with for now.
Did you know, there is magic up there???

That is what every boy needs. How fun, and he's lucky to have you and Jeff to do that for him!

Seriously, that is the sweetest post I've read in a long long time. I love it.

Of course there is magic up there... just like there was Narnia in the closet, and the "syndicate" in the basement.

There is ALWAYS magic in a tree house...imagination, dreams, wishes and LOTS of fun.

Rachel,

I loved this story so much, I submitted it to Kirtsy. It's a site where people submit their favorite sites and finds throughout the internet. I hope that's okay. Here's the link if you want to see it. I guess just copy and paste it. I couldn't get it to load through my email, but the more people who see it can vote on it, and you'll get further and further up the ladder of popularity. Something I know we all want, right? ;)

Every child should have memories of their own special tree-house or play-house. I was double-blessed. My parents gave us both!
GOOD JOB in creating that perfect place!!

I always wanted a tree house growing up. Ask Clint if I can come and play in it next time we come to visit. We all need a little magic sometimes.

Nice job, looks great. Oh, by the way, guys - tree fort, girls - tree house, whatever, right. Anyways looks like Jeff you did a great job. I'm sure your backyard we be the envy of the neighborhood and your kids are lucky to have a dad to help them build something fun like that.
