Mudworks

Ingredients: 1 part Water

1 part Dirt

Several parts Kids

2 parts Plaster of Paris

1 more part water to mix with plaster

Mix Well first 3 ingredients

Make hand prints in mud and add rocks, shells, stones, and any other treasuresPour Plaster of Paris into treasure filled hand prints. Wait 1 hour. Dig out around hands with shovel, and let dry overnight.
In the morning, put hands in bucket of water and carefully wash off remaining dirt. We also put nails on the back of the hands to tie a ribbon around in case someone wanted to hang one on the wall...(most of the moms didn't)...

But I think they will look awesome in the garden, or maybe even hanging on a tree?

Colors of Summer

Making our own chalk I just bought one of those crayola ocean chalk kits, but I know how to make our own with plaster of Paris too...

We took the easy route this time

We can re-use the ocean life molds if I feel ambitious to make chalk from scratch sometime this year.

It dried really quickly.

Guitar Recital 2010

Clint is gone at scout camp for the week, and we really miss him. Especially Derek. But we know he is good hands. These are the photos I took of him at his guitar recital a few weeks ago. He is such a good little musician. I didn't have the video camera charged up, but he promised to play a few songs and let me tape them when he comes home.

Water Balloons

1&1/2 hours to fill up..... About 5 min. to throw.

Maybe 15 min. We did a few rounds and the kids were patient while I filled up more for 20 to 30 min. in between.

And they all helped clean up the balloons afterwards. What a bunch of great kids!

Cars

We came home a few nights ago to see Landen and Candace from down the street driving a couple of boxes around. Only they weren't ordinary boxes...Their cute Dad made them into cars, complete with turning steering wheels, a removable key that fits in a slot, and opening doors.

What a great Dad they have to take the time to make such a cool and creative thing. Of course, Derek asked for a turn.

I wish I would have thought of making them!
